Top Tips for creating a Roller Banner
Creating a roller banner for the first time can seem rather daunting - where do you place your logo, or image and what colours work well together? Photoline, we have seen our fair share of Roller Banners and know what looks good and what doesn’t work as well. Read our top tips below, to learn how to create the best roller banner you can…
#1 Logo
The placement of your logo can be drastic! Make sure you keep your logo in the top left corner, this is where everyone’s eyes naturally flow to when looking for the brand of a business, so don’t change this up. It is always good to follow the logo with a call to action which is obnoxiously obvious to the audience.
#2 Text
Think left to right! A roller banner, though large in size, is mainly used for simple and relevant text. Due to this, you need to keep your information to a minimum and make sure it is something people want or need to know. Keep your roller banner short and sweet and you can even hand out leaflets during your event, which will hold more information for your potential customers.
#3 Colours
One of the first things you should do is to correspond your roller banner in relation to your logo. There is no point in making an eye-catching roller banner, without taking your logo into account as this could cause clashing. It’s good to have a bright/ bold colour for your roller banner, as this will make your banner stand out from your competitors, especially if your roller banner will be at an event. Colour doesn’t just mean your background, but also your text and images, everything needs to flow in an eye-catching way. We recommend you look for contrasting colours if you are wanting to use multiple colours in your roller banner.
#4 Quality of Print
Quality is vital when creating a roller banner. You have to think bigger for everything. Roller banners can accentuate minor details and can look bad for your company. Make sure you use good quality images, that are ideally taken directly from your camera and are 300dpi. DPI simply translates to ‘dots per inch’, this means you will need 300 dots per inch for the perfect roller banner visuals. Make sure your images are not taken directly from a website. Your images need to be made for printing, so if you save directly from a website this will most likely be RGB rather than CMYK. Remember - you are trying to draw people towards using your brand and your products
#5 Contact Details
A roller banner is mainly used to direct people to your main point of service and where is best for them to contact you regarding this service. For example, if you are wanting to attract more traffic to your website, make sure you include this. Don’t clutter your roller banner with all of your contact details, just keep the focus on one area.
